About Us
how it started
AAFOA provides trained officials for over 30 high school and middle school programs across the Atlanta metropolitan area. As one of the largest football officials’ associations in Georgia, we are able to offer quality training and on-field opportunities to new and experienced officials alike. For decades, we have been fortunate enough to officiate regular season games for some of the top high school programs in the state, and many of our past and current officials have received quarterfinal, semifinal, and state championship assignments.
Our association and its members are driven by three guiding principles:
- Pride in the work we do, both on and off the field.
- Poise under pressure, in the heat of intense competition.
- Professionalism at all times in our interactions with coaches, players, and others.
AAFOA is a nonprofit and 501(c)6 tax-exempt organization, led by an Executive Committee of twelve members. Six officers, each with specific duties in the management of the organization, plus a representative from each of six position groups. These volunteers work tirelessly to ensure the success of AAFOA and its membership.
